Well, here we sit on the seventh floor at Children's Hospital of Pittsburg of UPMC (long name, huh?).  The good news is that Isabella's infection in her food appears to be improving, she stood up today for the first time since Saturday.  She is still tender, but things are looking up.  She is going to the OR in about an hour to have a PIC line placed, and that will enable her to be discharged to the Ronald MacDonald house tomorrow.  I will be taught how to give her meds through the PIC line.  The great news is that, even though she will be on a three week course of the i.v. antibiotics, the infectious disease doctors say that she is cleared for transplant, at least from their end.  I am waiting to hear back from the transplant team to tell us if they are good to go, and that will put us back where we should have been this whole time:  ready and waiting for a liver.  Let's just hope that the abundant supply that we saw last weekend is still out there!
