We are officially in our second week in Pittsburgh, and not much has changed as far as Bella's liver goes.  The good news is the middle of the night MRI looks to have ruled out osteomylitis (sp?), or infection in Bella's bones.  Now they just have to figure out where the infection is, and if it is in the fluid around her ankle/foot joint.  She won't bear any weight on her left leg still, so that is where the focus is today.  Her blood cultures from yesterday have not grown anything yet, so we are hopeful that will stay true by tomorrow and prove that the antibiotics kicked the infection out of her blood.  We are meeting with the infectious disease and orthopedic docs later to figure out a plan of action based on what we are seeing in Bella and what the tests are showing.  Nobody seems exceptionally nervous, I guess this is not particularly uncommon.  We just need to figure out how it will affect her transplant, and if we will have to put it off for any period of time.
Aside from not walking, Bella is doing very well.  Her fever has been gone for 48 hours, as has her cold.  She is in a great mood, unless she is staring down the doctors and nurses with her perfected glare.  It is quite impressive, and quite humorous to see her snarly look!  She also hasn't been stuck since they put her i.v. in, so that is probably helping her mood.
Jensen's sister Morgan and her husband Steve were in town on Saturday, but we didn't get to connect because of everything that was going on with Bella.  We got called downstairs for a package earlier that I expected to be Bella's formula, but Morgan and Steve had sent us a beautiful plant in a pretty fall pot.  They are so sweet!!!  Thanks, guys, if you read this!
So we are keeping our spirits up (unfortunately without the aid of wine), and thinking positive at all times.  We know that we are in the right place, and, metabolically, Bella is remarkably stable right now.  We have told her to stop trying to keep us on our toes by throwing the kitchen sink at us, and that if she doesn't shape up she is going to be grounded until she is 16.  The threats may be starting to work, but we are still keeping our fingers crossed just in case!
