For the ladies from the Zone...It was an external jugular (E.J. if you are in the know like me), not a central line.  No sedation, but she was not thrilled.  I had my face right next to it as it went in because I was holding her down, and I almost needed sedation.  I pick on you guys for using garden hoses, but man, this needle was HUGE!!!  Amazingly she only tried to yank on it once or twice, and the i.v. in her hand never slowed her down for a second.  She is a trooper!  We miss you guys!
