So here I am, almost a month since my last post. The good news is that we have had a pretty unremarkable month, thank God. Aside from a minor stomach bug that we all passed around, we have all been healthy. No hospital visits for any of us!
We were blessed with the most amazing weather for Easter weekend. We spend Saturday at Jeannie and Wayne's Easter party, and wow what a party it was! The Easter Bunny directed an egg hunt that ended with every child receiving a beautiful Easter basket. Addie got a beautiful silver necklace in her basket, Lily got the coveted Barbie and the Diamond Castle DVD and book, and Isabella got some fantastic books. They were all over the moon. The games that followed resulted in the back of our car sagging to the ground it was so full of candy! The older girls spent all of Sunday sorting and re-sorting the candy. It is all organized in plastic baggies according to variety (and hidden away in the pantry by Mommy). Ahh, at least they understand the true meaning of Easter, just like Christmas.
Addie and Lily are doing new after-school activities. Addie is doing Arts & Crafts and also Woodworking. She won the prize of the day for her beautifully decorated wooden duck last week, and took home a beautiful and functional tool set, complete with toolbag, apron, and safety goggles. She was sooooo proud! Lily is doing Music & Movement, and loves it. We remain convinced that she will support us through our retirement years with the money she makes as an actress or musician.
Isabella continues to benefit from her g-tube (as do we all). She is eating better and better every day. Yesterday she finished 3 bottles without needing the tube! Steve and I also like the fact that we don't have to wake her up to feed her at night. I like the fact that Steve doesn't even have to wake me up! Thank God for my wonderful husband and his ability to wake up at 2 a.m. If it weren't for him, poor Isabella would probably starve! I guess it makes up for the fact that she won't eat for him while she is awake.
Bella has started PT with Miss Ann. Miss Ann is wonderful with Bella, and Bella amazed her with the progress that she made between her last two visits. She is almost sitting up, and is even creeping forward on her tummy a bit when we support her. If only we could get her to realize that this will eventually be much more effective than the barrel roll that she currently prefers, maybe she would work harder at it! Bella will soon be starting OT and speech services, and will be well on her way to being able to physically and verbally torment her older sisters!
We are headed to New Jersey to see Aunt Katie et. al. this weekend. Addie and Lily can't wait to see their Uncle Willy!
